Founding of the association Weinfreunde: A project close to our heart. Founding the Association for Humanitarian Aid: A labor of love.
The founding of our association for humanitarian aid was a matter close to my heart. I have been actively involved in the BRK's international aid work since 1992 and have helped many people in need. My work in the Ahr valley after the devastating flood disaster was a particularly defining moment.
Together with Romana Echensperger, this gave rise to the idea of founding an association that not only provides humanitarian aid, but also supports regional/national people in need. Our association has international members who work together to improve the living conditions of people in need. It motivates me to spread hope and support through our work together.
About me:
I am involved in the association with utmost conviction, because I want to take on social responsibility and support people in need. My motivation comes from years of experience in humanitarian aid, which has shown me how important solidarity and community are.
As First Chairman, I use my vision and passion to preside over the association in a future-oriented way and achieve our goals effectively. I firmly believe that together we can achieve great things and I want to create an inspiring environment in which everyone can get involved.
I became aware of the association through Ukrainehilfe. Wine brings people together and creates empathy. It's great to see that we can do good in a direct way through the wine community - quickly and unbureaucratically, from person to person. That is important to me.
Promoting interaction and using a good and positive topic for the benefit of society is close to my heart.

Romana Echensperger was born in 1977 and lives with her family in Germering.
I am a co-founder and member of Weinfreunde helfen e.V. because I feel very strongly about social justice. It is gratifying for me to support people in need and to make a positive contribution.
Being involved in our association allows me to actively participate in projects that really make a difference - whether it's through supporting families in need or giving hope to people in a crisis.
It's a sense of community and cohesion that motivates and inspires me.
Our association has set itself the goal of supporting social projects at home and abroad. The motivation to do this comes from the conviction that everyone deserves help in times of crisis.
We are committed to various projects, including
Christmas parcels for Chernobyl:
To bring joy to the children there and show them that they are not forgotten.
Food donations for the food bank:
To support people in need in our community and raise awareness of food waste.
Support for Ukrainian families:
We help refugees find work and housing to give them a fresh start.
We believe in the power of community and the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others through our projects.
Join us in making the world a better place!
I have been working in IT for many years. I got to know Jörg and his wife Anett in Berry’s Vinothek.
A good friendship has developed from a pleasant initial encounter.
It was through them and our second chairwoman, Romana, that I became aware of the association.
As I like to help and support social projects, it was only natural for me to get involved in the association.
The idea and aims of the association immediately won me over and I am delighted to be able to make a contribution to this important work as secretary.
